Zach Peirce
Hi. I’m Zach Peirce, Registered Maine Fishing Guide and owner of Maine Stream Guide Services. I’ve been fishing for more than 20 years. Maine, the Northeast, and as far west as Alaska. Whether it’s solo or with friends, in kayaks or on drift boats, you’ll almost always find me fishing, learning, and teaching!
In fact, I can’t really remember life without fishing. My uncle recalls me as a 2-year old, passing the time before my second-ever haircut, fishing in a pond behind the barber shop, hopping up and down as I landed one sunfish after another — even then, catch and release! Then, it was a worm and bobber. Soon enough, it would be lures and bass.
I began my bass fishing journey at the Needham, MA reservoir taking part in fishing derbies my mom organized and ran as Assistant Director of Needham Parks and Rec.

Trips
I offer Full Day and Half Day trips for a wide variety of species. We will be fishing out of a 12’ Riverrat raft. There is also the option for walk and wade trips depending on what species you want to target.
-
Penobscot River Smallmouth Bass (May-October) — The Penobscot river is the longest river in Maine and home to one of the most abundant smallmouth bass populations in the country. Join me on this adventure and target Maine's hardest fighting fish and maybe see multiple bald eagles too!
-
Lake Trout (April-late May; late October-December) — In early spring and late fall lake trout will cruise the shallows in search of food and spawning areas. This makes it a great time to target them with a fly rod! They are very aggressive and put up a great fight on a fly rod! Join me if you’ve ever wanted to target this species on the fly!
-
Small Stream Brook Trout ( May-July; September)— If wading up and down a small stream in search of Maine's crown jewel interests you then this is the trip for you! We may not see the size like they do in Northern and Western Maine but they are just as beautiful. Personally, I don’t enjoy fishing in a crowd which is why I choose to fish small streams that not many choose to access.
-
Pike (May-October) — Join me in targeting one of Maine’s most aggressive fish to target, Pike! The Bangor area has a great population to target on the fly with heavy rods and big flies!
